God is Death and Death is the portal of limitless Beginnings ….. I wonder how Death has become so dreaded and so full of sadness when we stand on the side of those who witness others passing… Is it a philosophical conditioning or is it truly part of the archetype of the being human ?
Even in cultures that base their existence on reincarnation, there are untold levels of grief connected to the experience of Death. Having experienced loss in such dramatic ways I know the weight of sorrow… and I truly wonder, is there another way? We don’t cry as the leaves turn in autumn and fall to be renewed in spring. In fact, we admire the great beauty of the transformation.
Yet I also experience there is beauty to be shared and revealed in the grieving process… a stripping down of the armours around love and a melting into the truth of feeling.
Still I wonder if we would grieve, if we saw the Cosmic Self in the temporary costume of the personality as it awakens to and explores action? Like the Halloween costumes we choose for today!
Our hearts would then be in love with Cosmic Self who’s home is everywhere and simply enjoy the personality as it passes through the winds of our minds. Perhaps we would be like the great Tree shedding, rebirthing, and the true meaning of freedom would dawn.
The great teachings show us that Death is the greatest fear every being has, whether they think this to be true or not. I meet so many people who say they are not afraid of death, but it is simply not true unless they are also free of every other imaginable fear.
All other fears are echoes of the fear of death and all disharmonies in action, heart and mind are an expression of this deeply rooted fear. Our planet lives now in turmoil because its inhabitants fear Death. We would be truly fearless and in complete harmony without the fear of Death.
Wow if we could hold this awareness as we move through our wants and desires and fears how simple and extraordinary our experience of transformation would be. We would not need to chase stories but indeed know exactly what the root cause of our problem was, and refocus our hearts and desires on the Cosmic Self.
